My Degree Of Success

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

The day before yesterday I had a party so at night napped at most only a couple of hours. Then there was a busy day with some meetings and a sport exercise at the late evening - a football game. So this night I slept from about 12-30 am till 9-30 am, making it roughly a 9-hour sleep which is not common for me.

My yesterday conversation about advantages of rising early made an effect to my business partner and friend Kirill who reported of getting up at 5 am today. As I did it on 9-30, I preferred to keep silence. What an enourmous amount of time is freed in this way.

Also I had an interesting discussion with one guy who had an opinion of predeterminated fate as correlated to chances to success. He believes that one has to have good influential friend or wealth to start new business and become successful. I argued that anyone could be successful if he is strong in his character and very goal-oriented. He asked why I had not reached a success that I was talking about. And I have a strong conviction that I am on my way, and am on my way to success, am successful to a certain degree.

Even though my primary outer concern now is my divorce, and many questions that relate to it, nevertheless I feel I am getting further, and stronger in my believes and feelings.

Google Adsense Earnings – My October 2006 Experience

Monday, April 9th, 2007

I have installed a Google Adsense account on one of my sites, Bed And Breakfast Kiev, on December 13, 2004. I was getting 0.05 – 0.5 USD a day at that time with 5-20 impressions per day. I never trusted this as a stream of income, and thought of getting a 100 USD point some time.

In September 2006 I made a few experiments with my sites, and launched a few new photo blogs to test whether I can do something to increase my traffic and figures.

The table shows my top earnings as 47.54 USD a day. By the end of October I got 588 USD on my account.

To Live In Congruence With Universal Principles And Other Goals

Monday, April 9th, 2007

As yesterday I had a meeting with a friend I hadn’t seen for years, I came home late at night, and today slept till 8 am. My plan for today is to work with my personal values and goals.

As Steve Pavlina tells in his Living Your Values article, his analogy of values is having many planes that aim at their destination, i.e. goals. He stressed that his approach is to set goals, or airports of destinations, first, and afterwards align them with values, opposite to a more wide concept of clarifying one’s values first.

My goals are:

- to live a life in congruence with universal principles, in perfect peace of mind and happiness (too general, of course);

- to become wealthy with multiple streams of passive income (in particular to become a millionare by the age of 40, and now I am 33);

- to lead a social life in an association of people I like and who share my enthusiasm and values;

- to love and to be loved;

- continuous personal development;

- to share my knowledge and skills and to help others achieve their goals in life;

- to advance spiritually and stick to spiritual practice;

- to have a healthy body and clear mind.

So my values may be listed as:

Success

Wealth

Social Environment

Love

Personal Growth

Teaching

Spiritual Progress

Health

O sleep! O gentle sleep!
Nature’s soft nurse, how have I frighted thee,
That thou no more wilt weigh my eyelids down
And steep my senses in forgetfulness?

William Shakespeare - 2 Henry IV (3.1.7-16)

I would like to thank Steve Pavlina for his article How to Become an Early Riser ( http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/05/how-to-become-an-early-riser/ ).

He analyzes two patterns of sleeping. The first one is to rise and to wake at fixed times and has sociological background as we have to have predictability in our lives and schedules. The second one is more biological and tells that our bodies will tell us when to sleep and when to wake. His main idea is to go to bed when he is no more able to be awake, and to rise at a fixed times, that is 5 am.

This schedule has a correlation with ancient Vedic wisdom. The time before sunrise was considered the most auspicious, and was called arunodaya. It consisted of two so-called muhurtas. One muhurta is 48 minutes long, and the first one is named brahma-muhurta. It is very favorable for meditation, and the mind is very calm and serene.   Different gunas, or qualities, such as sattva (goodness), rajas (passion) and tamas (ignorance) rule in course of the day and night, and the time before sunrise is under pure sattva.

In ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temples the monks rise before 4 am to bathe, put in fresh clothes and prepare for morning prayers. From 5 am till 7 am they are meditating with Hare Krishna maha-mantra. This brahma-muhurta time is the best time for spiritual activities.

This site is my commitment to pursuit a higher goal of strong personal growth and success.

I would like to commit myself to writing, to crystallize my thought and plans, to make extensive researches on the important fields of life.

So the goal of this site would be:

Intellectual:

-         learn to write

-         form clear thoughts

-         increase vocabulary

Social

-         get to know motivated and committed people

-         give my knowledge and experience out to the world

Physical

-         keep track of my physical condition via certain tests and notes that are put to writing

Spiritual

-         take more spiritual commitments

-         share spiritual wisdom with others

Some themes I took from Steve Pavlina website. This website inspires me to keep working on my dream website where I plan to post all the research that I do.
